Ladybugs aren’t really bugs and they belong to the beetle family. During the sprint and summer, you are most likely going to see ladybugs near flowers and gardens. They are considered predator bugs and are considered helpful, even to farmers. Many ladybugs, there are over 5,000 different species of ladybugs, will consume soft body insects. It is important not to kill them as they help protect your flowers and garden from being destroyed by plant-eating bugs.

Ladybug Life Cycle Sheet 1

Ladybugs go through 4 different life cycles: eggs, larva, pupa, and adult. The first sheet already has the different life cycles colored for you. Your child will then need to color the ladybug on the right. Then cut out both the top and bottom circles. Center the two circles and poke a brad through the center to hold them together and spin the top circle. Note: if you have a child with little hands you can glue a popsicle stick to the back of the bottom circle.

Ladybug Life Cycle Sheet 2

This worksheet is the same as the first one; however, your child will have to color each stage of the ladybug and the ladybug on the right. Then cut out both the top and bottom circles. Center the two circles and poke a brad through the center to hold them together and spin the top circle. Note: if you have a child with little hands you can glue a popsicle stick to the back of the bottom circle.
