Blue’s Clues has been a family favorite since my daughter was two or three years old. She was born with a severe to profound hearing loss. One afternoon, she was watching cartoons and a Blue’s Clues episode was playing with Steve Burns as the host. As we were watching this particular episode, we noticed that they were using sign language. I love that Blue’s Clues has incorporated sign language into its programming.
Emotional health is an important part of your child’s wellbeing. It is important to teach them to open up about how they are feeling and learn to tell others how they are feeling. Feelings are important and your child needs to know that they can tell other people how they feel even if it makes someone else uncomfortable or sad. Now this doesn’t give them a right to be hateful and negative but you don’t want them to keep their emotions bottled up.
